A mission to replace the downward spiral of the status quo with the Art of Possibility sits at the center of BioSpan Technologies, and Lindsey Hermes has turned that ethos into operating reality. Hermes, President and Chief Operating Officer of BioSpan Technologies, stepped into a family business founded in 1993 and chose transformation over maintenance, honoring the company’s history while inventing a future that had not yet taken shape.
Her path began outside the organization. For more than a decade, Hermes helped mission-driven companies scale, sharpening the instincts required to build systems, strengthen market presence and move from vision to execution. When she joined BioSpan Technologies to support strategy and business development, she quickly recognized the platform’s potential to disrupt how concrete and asphalt infrastructure is preserved. Rather than accept slow industry norms and outdated solutions, she rebuilt core elements of the business, including branding, product positioning, sales channels, distributor models, marketing strategy and national partnerships. Executive leadership followed because trust was earned through forward motion, not assigned by title.
Within the last two years, change accelerated. Hermes led a Future-Ready initiative after determining existing infrastructure would not support the company’s long-range direction. BioSpan Technologies migrated to Odoo, reshaped its distribution network and introduced smaller volume packaging options alongside a retail partner model designed to create bandwidth for innovation and a try-before-you-buy approach at scale. In 2025, innovation became the primary growth engine with the formal launch of OTx, an enhanced oil recovery solution that diversified revenue streams and opened a new market segment beyond reliance on fracking.
Culture remained inseparable from growth. Hermes implemented agile methodology, empowered mid-level managers and strengthened decision velocity while improving retention and productivity. She views a Titan-level company as inseparable from its internal alignment, and she treats people development as a strategic advantage rather than a secondary initiative.
The future of work at BioSpan Technologies is built on a paradox she embraces: As automation increases, relationships must become more intentional and high-touch. AI tools support technical data synthesis and routine queries so teams can spend more time in face-to-face strategic planning with partners. She advances what she calls Strategic Relationship Advocacy, training employees to move past product knowledge into consultative innovation, long-term value mapping, negotiation and emotional intelligence.
Her passion is renewed by returning to the bedrock of the organization: her father’s original vision and scientific brilliance. She treats that foundation as a launchpad, pairing heritage with Future Mapping and transparent vision-casting. Legacy and Leap sessions, frontline partner proximity and real-world win stories reinforce purpose across the team.
If she could master any skill instantly, Hermes would choose biochemical mastery at her father’s level. For her, scientific fluency represents precision, curiosity and evidence-driven leadership applied to both molecular systems and business architecture.
Recognition as a Titan 100 Honoree reflects the combination of vision, execution and industry disruption she brings to a sector resistant to change. Through decisive modernization and relationship-centered innovation, Hermes continues shaping BioSpan Technologies into a national platform for sustainable infrastructure preservation.
